Motor vehicle inspections are $45.00 + applicable taxes. SPECIAL on for the months of January and February If you do a pre-inspection with us and then get your vehicle inspected you will only be charged the remainder of the $45.00 at the time of the complete inspection. A huge thanks and shout out to the community who participated with us in raising awareness for Hestia House. We collected a lot of clothing and toys and toiletries the Outreach from the community was amazing. We received a thank you card from Hestia House today Thanking us and the community for helping them through this holiday season. RETORQUING WHEELS

Checking for loose lug nuts

FAST FACTS: Why lug nuts need retorquing
80 km after a tire change, garages and tire dealers will retorque the wheels on your car for free. Over time, lug nuts undergo the typical stresses and forces of a car in daily use. These stresses can sometimes result in tightening or loosening of the lug nuts. If lug nuts are too loose, there’s a small risk that the wheel could come off while you’re driving.

Recommend re-torquing wheels after driving 80 kilometres after a change. Only about 30 to 40 per cent of drivers do come back. It's even more important with aluminum rims, which are softer than steel, as the lug nuts can loosen more easily, meaning a higher chance of a problem.

TIRE PRESSURE

Safety tip.

During the last year chances are that your vehicle has driven less then usual. When a vehicle sits there for longer periods of time the tires can sometimes deflate in air and may need to have a top up in the PSI. Most vehicles are safely set at 32 Pounds Square Inch. Checking your tire can be the difference of a simply top up in air or a costly break down on the road that can simply be avoided.

If you want to verify your tire pressure you will find the psi number on the side wall of the tire so you can insure you input the proper amount of air.
